How Cups2Grams Started

Cups2Grams began in 2024 as a project to solve a familiar kitchen frustration: a recipe is clear until the measurements switch from grams to cups and the numbers stop making sense without ingredient context.

Early versions covered essential pantry staples and a fast converter. The site expanded from there into dedicated ingredient pages, printable chart pages, a cups-to-grams direction, gram-amount reference pages, and editorial guides that explain the assumptions behind the math.

The long-term aim is to keep the site accurate, transparent, and easy to use. If a value is an average rather than an exact figure, the page says so. If precision matters enough to justify a kitchen scale, the site says that too.

Density values are practical reference averages, not exact constants. Brand differences, local humidity, particle size, packing method, and whether an ingredient is sifted or compacted can all shift a real-world result. For commercial baking or any precision-critical use, a calibrated kitchen scale remains the best standard.
